Michael Huang is a brand director and multidisciplinary designer—fueled by the creative process, but rooted in pragmatic refinement.

Born to Taiwanese parents, and raised in South Carolina, Michael draws constant inspiration from the collision of personal, cultural, and aesthetic identities. His unconventional upbringing fuels his humorous, irreverent, and layered approach to design.

After graduating from Yale in 2009, Michael spent a year studying architecture in Scandinavia before moving to New York. He interned in Rag & Bone’s showroom and Peter Som’s atelier before joining the Helmut Lang accessories team in 2011.

Most recently, Michael was the creative director at men’s hosiery line, Ace & Everett. Upon joining the team in 2016, he spearheaded a rebranding campaign and new wholesale strategy. The line was picked up by Bergdorf Goodman in 2017.

Since leaving Ace & Everett in 2019, Michael has been freelancing as a technical designer and product development consultant, working with several exciting new brands, including Lou Dallas, ILYSM Studio, and NOWE. He has also taken on several projects with Roswell Studios, with a focus on UX/UI design.
